Butterfly Bush – Buddleja Davidii

Plant : Butterfly Bush is a popular garden plant and has become naturalised across the region.  It can grow into large evergreen shrubs up to 5 m tall.  They are a member of the Schrophulariaceae family and are a great source of forage for bees and particularly butterflies, when in flower.

Flower : The numerous, tiny, colourful flowers grown in spikes up to 25 cm long.  The flowers have four notched petals and four sepals.  They flower in August and September.
