Cow Parsley – Anthriscus sylvestris

Plant : Cow Parsley is a native wild flower that grows in abundance along hedgerows, woodland and shrub land.  Its tall, slender, branched stems grow up to 120 cm tall.  It is a member of the Apiaceae family and produces umbels of flowers at the end of these stems.  They are visited by many types of pollinators.

Flower : The tiny, white flowers grow in large umbels.  They are only 3 to 4 mm across and have five petals and five stamen.  They flower between April and June.
