Butterfly – Browns – Speckled wood – Pararge aegeria

The full taxonomy of Pararge aegeria is:-

  • Order – Lepidoptera
  • Family – Satyridae
  • Genus – Pararge
  • Species – aegeria

The speckled wood lives in woodland and feeds on honeydew.  If is well camouflaged in treetops, with its underside resembling a dead leaf.
