Bee – Bumble Bee – Bombus lucorum

The common name Bombus lucorum is the “white-tailed bumble bee” and its full taxonomy is:-

  • Class – Insecta
  • Order – Hymenoptera
  • Family – Apidae
  • Genus – Bombus
  • Species – lucorum

The white-tailed bumble bee is large and common.  It has a lemon yellow collar and abdominal hoop, as well as a white tail.  It commonly nests underground.
